Abstract: The leaf flushing period as a parameter of morphological trait of its behaviour was studied for three years (2002-2004) in 123 teak clones belonging to eight Forest Divisions (Balaghat, Betul, Chhindwada, Hardha, Hoshangabad, Khandwa, Mandla and Seoni) of Madhya Pradesh, planted in ten experimental plots at teak seed orchard (TSO), Behrai, Seoni, Madhya Pradesh, India. The observations revealed that leaf flushing in teak clones of Madhya Pradesh occur in the month of May-June, irrespective of clones and years. Out of 123 teak clones, 18 clones showed early leaf flushing (16
th May to 31
st May), 78 clones exhibited mid leaf flushing (1
st June to 15
th June) and 27 clones revealed late leaf flushing (16
th June to 30
th June). The variation in leaf flushing periods within the clones and among the clones of different localities were found to be significantly (P<0.05 to P<0.01) heterogeneous within and over the years. The findings advocate that the variation in leaf flushing period of clones may be due to difference in genotypes of teak.
